Welcome.

Let's face it; being a parent is HARD. Facing the realities of limited sleep, no time to yourself, postpartum pain, and toddler energy is discouraging to say the least. Many people I work with describe feeling exhausted, irritable, or overwhelmed and ultimately guilty for not doing enough despite their love, dedication, and excitement for being a mom. There is so much to be anxious about and so little true assurance that everything will work out the way you hope.

Relief from the weight of guilt, anxiety and feelings of inadequacy is possible. We can work together to figure out what is getting in your way, how you want to feel, and how to access that.

In working with me, you will find I always show my compassion, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in you. I believe that my relationship with my clients is a core necessity in counseling that provides a space for vulnerability, strength, growth, and authenticity.  I will show you my personality as well, and I will work with you to figure out a new way of navigating these stuck feelings so you can focus on enjoying your life and your relationships.

ABOUT

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

My work has always come naturally to me, and I love who I work with because I'm a mom too. In the trenches with two young ones, my patience, sense of self, identity, and energy are constantly tested and pushed to the limits. Though this experience is helpful, I do not assume it is the same as yours. I believe it is possible to feel empowered over your anxiety or distress, and I hope to help you achieve that.

EDUCATION

I received my master's degree in mental health counseling from Boston College in 2012. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts and am Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International.

SPECIALTIES & APPROACH

My practice focuses on providing support for perinatal mental health concerns, including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). I work with pregnant women, postpartum individuals, and parents, offering interventions for coping with anxiety and managing stressors related to pregnancy and early parenthood.

I offer a multi-dimensional approach that is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy, which emphasizes the importance of the client's strengths and self-perceptions. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills and Interpersonal Effectiveness skills to support with coping, communication, and boundary-setting. We will work together to find the best personalized approach for your needs.

EXPERIENCE

My post-masters training is rooted in trauma-informed care, complex family systems, and perinatal mental health. My early work involved providing family therapy and youth play therapy to families affected by adoption and complex-blended families. I then moved to providing intensive home-based family therapy. These experiences provided me a lens into the complex role parents and caregivers play through all stages. Before working in my own practice, I provided individual therapy for an array of issues with a specific focus on pre- and postpartum mood disorders. This work also included individual therapy with children and parent coaching.
